Summary:
In a world in which "super heroes" have been a fact of life for several
decades, the murder of a federally-backed mercenary called "The Comedian"
attracts the curiosity of insane vigilante Rorschach, the last "masked man"
still operating without government support (they were outlawed years ago).
Visiting other heroes, both retired (Night Owl, Ozymandias) and those working
for the U.S. government (Dr. Manhattan, Silk Spectre). The mystery at hand is...
who's killing the masks? Rorschach's investigation stirs old and emotions (Silk
Spectre, for example, finds herself torn between two men) and secrets, like what
sinister plan is at work, something that may have cracked even a tough "blood
and guts" soldier like the Comedian.
