Summary:
Having graduated college, the hapless Cindy Campbell has become a television
News Anchorwoman. She is directed to investigate the mysterious crop circles on
Tom Logan's farm, and discovers the eerie secret behind the death of a close
friend. Along her journey, Cindy pays a visit to Orpheus, who explains to her
that she is The One, and prophecizes that she must help the U.S. President to
prevent a full scale alien invasion against the country.
Review:
After a disappointing sequel this Dimension Films film franchise comes back
with a third installment promising more crude humor, an all-star cast, and
the funniest spoofs since the original.
The first thing you'll say after watching the film is "Who wasn't in
this movie?". You have Queen Latifah as the Oracle from the Matrix,
Pamela Anderson and Jenny McCarthy as schoolgirls, George Carlin as the
architect of the Matrix, Simon Rex as a white rapper, Anthony Anderson as
Simon's flamy cohort, etc.
Parents will be pleasantly surprised by a lack of unnecessary sexual
content which helped the film receive a PG-13 rating that should boost
attendance among the under-25 demographic.
Another nice thing about the movie is the exclusion of the Wayan
Brothers. Unfortunately the Wayan Brothers style of comedy doesn't really
suit this type of movie. Most of their antics are relatively outlandish and unnecessary
which really threw previous installments off on comical tangents. More or
less this movie is a spoof where the parody is the focus of the situational
comedy. The Wayan Brothers on the other hand use their comical talents to
add a couple of laughs to the scenes inbetween the spoofs, but unfortunately
the same comical reactions got played out after the first film.
Without the Wayan Brothers the movie really coalesces around the spoofs
and provides solid entertainment for 90 minutes. If you have seen just a
couple of mainstream movies in the past year you'll probably find
enough laughs to validate seeing this film.
